MJ Curran founder Michael J Curran in 1991 outside the old shop at Gratton Square, Dungarvan

MJ Curran Homevalue has been trading for over 75 years and employs over 30 full and part time staff. Managed by three generations of the Curran family, the company has grown from it’s original location in Gratten Square and O’Connell St in Dungarvan to it’s current site on the N25.

Started by Michael Curran in 1932, the original store mainly sold ironware and leather goods. The stock items were generally small in size - nails, saddles, small iron goods such as horseshoes. Over the years further premises were added which sold furniture and giftware, and a Builders Yard for the larger construction materials.

In the mid nineties, the decision was made by Conor and Jack Curran to relocate the business to the outskirts of town as it allowed the opportunity to move everything under one roof. This premises has also grown recently and it now comprises a 30,000 square foot retail space, modern Builders Yard and Garden Centre with ample free parking for customers.

The business has always prided itself on customer service and product offering and thanks to a great team of staff, many of whom who have been with the company for years, they hope to be able to continue serving Dungarvan and West Waterford for years to come.
